Gakuran Glossary
Plain-language definitions for the combat and roleplay terms you’ll run into around the schoolyard.
Banchō
The 'boss' of a school's delinquent crew in Japanese youth culture. The archetype Gakuran's fighting-and-faction fantasy is built on.
Discord
A community chat platform many Roblox games use. For Gakuran, only trust a Discord link if it is traceable from official Roblox sources.
Gakuran
The black, stand-collar Japanese school uniform — and the name of the game. It sets the whole delinquent-schoolyard tone.
Group Required
You must join the game's Roblox group before you can play. A one-time step on the experience page.
Guard break
Forcing through an opponent's block so your next hit lands. Sitting on block forever isn't safe.
Neutral
The moment before either player has landed a clean opener. Movement, spacing and baiting whiffs matter most here.
Close fighting range where Boxing-style fast hands are most dangerous, but bad timing gets punished quickly.
PvP
Player-versus-player combat — the skill-based melee side of the game.
Ragdoll cancel
Recovering out of a knockdown/ragdoll state as fast as possible to cut the punish your opponent gets.
Reroll
Swapping your fighting style for a new one via the style system, for a small Robux cost.
Robux
Roblox's virtual currency, used here for things like rerolling a fighting style.
RP
Roleplay — acting out a character in the schoolyard rather than only fighting. Half of what Gakuran is.
Slam
A heavy attack in the punch → weave → slam → stomp loop, used to break a defending opponent and start a finisher.
Slice of life
The official description's roleplay framing: school life, hangouts and social scenes between fights.
Stomp
The follow-up that closes a string after a slam knocks an opponent down.
Style
Your fighting moveset. Community-documented examples include Boxing, Muay Thai and Hakari; line-up and pricing can change.
Trello
A board platform sometimes used for Roblox game info. Do not treat a Gakuran Trello as official unless it is linked from verified official channels.
Weave
Slipping or rolling under an incoming attack to avoid it and open a punish window. The reactive defensive read at the core of Gakuran's melee.
Whiff punish
Making an opponent miss, then hitting them during recovery. One of the cleanest ways to start pressure in Gakuran.
